Hans & Grete

This project is a culmination of my research of German history at the Berlin Study Away. It is a retelling of the story of Hänsel & Gretel via shadow puppetry. In addition to having a strong connection to the German folk art of Scherenshnitte, this art form allows for dimensionality and motion, thus resulting in a distinct duality of simplicity and maturity.
